Sequential Circuits SixTrak

via this auction
"6 notes polyphonic
6 notes multi-timbral
(probably the only multitimbral analog synth under 1000$...)
100 patches : onboard memory to store your own sounds
onboard sequencer (basic but quite fun)
arpegiator (3 mode)
Unison and Stack-Mode
(the Stack-Mode allows you to layer six sounds from the 100 in bank and trigger them all at once....Huge sounds !)
pitch wheel, mod wheel
stereo out (1/4 jack)
midi in, midi out
switch pedal input

36 parameters (for each of the 6 voices) to control from the onboard knob or remotely via any MIDI controller or sequencer (Cubase, Live, FruityLoops, etc)! Yep !!!

VCO : Coarse, Fine, Glide rate, LFO on
ENV amount, ENV invert, Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release
Saw on, Tri on, Pulse on, Pulse Width, PW LFO on (you can mix the 3 waveforms instead of having to choose between them !)
Osc/Noise mix
VCF : Cutoff, Resonance, LFO on, Keyboard tracking amount, Freq Mod (sounds a bit like a ring modulator but less metallic)
ENV amount, ENV invert, Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release
VCA : Voice volume, Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release
Unison
LFO : Frequency, Prog amount, Tri/Square waveform

Really cool to program and automate from softwares, totally integrated, it's like having a synth plugin excepted that you have a vintage analog sound instead of software emulation"

KENTON PRO 2000 MIDI to CV CONVERTER

via this auction
"What do MIDI-CV Converters do?
In order to control pre-MIDI synthesisers from a modern MIDI instrument or sequencer, you need to change the digital MIDI messages into the kind of signals the pre-MIDI synth can understand.

The Pro-2000 mk II converter has 10 completely independent sections - called channels A,B,C and D plus Aux's 1 to 6. Each can be assigned it's own MIDI channel, and controlled independently from the others.

The Pro-2000 mk II has two independent, MIDI programmable LFO's that can modulate both the CV outputs, and the auxiliaries. Each of the CV channels A and B has a portamento function.

The auxiliary outputs now have the following additional functionality, the first two of which allow the Pro-2000 mk II to control a further 3 CV/Gate synths if required (making a total of 5): -V/Oct from Notes - Gate from Notes - Trig Pulse (for synths requiring a trig as well as a gate i.e. Arp 2600).

The Pro-2000 mk II has intelligent MIDI sync. This means that if MIDI sync is selected and is in operation, the 2000 will automatically recalculate the LFO speed in order to fit a whole LFO waveform between MIDI clocks (or multiples of clocks depending on the setting of the sync divide).

# Full 128 note range now implemented on all outputs giving CV out.
# Auto portamento feature added to enable playing style to dictate whether portamento is used
# Memory increased from 7 to 24, so even more setups can be stored!

EDP ELECTRONIC DREAM PLANT KEYBOARD

via this auction

"Electronic Dream Plant
A true, 4-octave master keyboard which could control up to eight Wasps or Gnats using EDP's proprietary digital control system."

EDP Spider

via this auction

"Electronic Dream Plant
A 252-step digital sequencer (most analogue sequencers at the time had 8 or 16-steps, built in the same style as the standard wasp, outputting both LINK (to drive EDP products) and CV/gate information for use with standard analogue synths."

EDP WASP

EDP GNAT

via this auction
"Electronic Dream Plant
the WASP (1978), the GNAT synthesizer with funny black-yellow design from the UK. a lot of digital cicuitry for that time (again) by chris huggett, who also did the OSCar..

there are even MIDI kits for it, but this machine is EXPENSIVE today..

the filter is a 12dB/oct. made of digital inverters "working as OP amps" that are the cause for its very special sound. as said 12dB/oct
multimode filters and an LFO (here it is a "modulation OSC") , the filter is one of the first ones that are made of digital parts.. sounds very special , btw.. clones are being made by doepfer (A124) and others for modular systems..

GNAT is a smaller version of the WASP, it is only one OSCed and a real minimal synth.. rare."

ROLAND CSQ-100 DIGITAL SEQUENCER

via this auction

"The Roland CSQ-100 is a micro computer-controlled digital CV/gate Sequencer. It is much like the CSQ-600. However, it can only play one sequence at a time. Sequences can be recorded via an external CV/gate input or using step-time. Portamento can not be programmed, but is adjusted manually as a sequence is being played. Sequences can be saved and loaded via cassette interface."

ROLAND RHYTHM 330

via this auction
"The Rhythm 330 (TR-330) was the fourth analogue drum machine from the Roland stable and was released in 1973 (a year after the first (the TR-77). Whilst it only had the bare minimum of 10 patterns and 8 drum sounds, the Rhythm 330 differed in that it had a built in amplifier and speaker and was the first to sport the new "wooden cube" shape that would continue to the last of the '70s machines with the CR-78 (1978). The speaker quality actually sounds like that lovely warm sound you might remember of the old radiogram hi-fi units of the seventies. It produces a very warm, punchy sound and can be very useful for recording as an alternative to the direct audio output. Like many of the early Rolands, each model has a unique sound and the 330 is no exception. Unlike some other TR models, the 330's "balance control" can completely mute the hi-hat if required (or conversely remove the kick at the other extreme). Because of this, we've been able to provide you with two versions of each rhythm to suit your needs and it also enabled us to produce of a MASSIVE 124 x multi-sampled pack of all the individual sounds. On this machine, they really got the hi-hat just right. The snare is very short and snappy and the kick has a lovely click and boom to it. Both sound very similar to the results you can achieve by tweaking the much later TR-808. The congas are unusual too, listen to that decaaaay! Although a relatively recent addition to the Dubsounds collection, the TR-330 is already being put to good use (we really love the kick sound)."

EDP GNAT Special

via this auction
"Gnats are usually nothing but an annoyance, but in this case, we'll make an exception. The Gnat is a single-oscillator version of the Wasp. It has one digital oscillator and analog circuitry with a basic lowpass resonant filter, envelope with Attack and Decay controls, an LFO which can modulate the pitch or filter, and a built-in speaker. Like the Wasp, it has a very un-playable touch-sensitive flat keyboard with 25 keys. The Gnat also had EDP's propietary control that could be used to link the Gnat to a Wasp or other EDP gear.

Like the Wasp, the Gnat also came in three versions. Besides the original, a Gnat Special (pictured above, released 1982) and Gnat Deluxe were released. They had wood panels and a few other changes and the Deluxe used a a standard 3 octave keyboard. The Gnat offers simple and traditional synthesis of analog bass, synth and other useful monophonic sounds. It's designer, Chris Hugget, also designed the Oxford Synth Company's OSCar Synthesizer.
