"The Cell [48] System 1 is a complete single voice, analog synthesizer and a great entry point into modular synthesis. Using the Synthesizer Block module as it's centerpiece, the System 1 contains all of the most important components of a modular synthesizer. Connected internally, the Cell[48] System 1 is hardwired to create a complete monophonic synthesizer without needing to add patch cables. However, each major component within the System 1 is fully patchable and can function independent to the rest of the system by using the available patch points and included patch cables.

An unpatched Cell[48] System 1 offers direct access to a wide array of classic analog monosynth sounds. Without a single patch cable, deep bass and warm sweeping leads are just a few knob tweaks away.
Plugging in a few patch cables opens the Cell[48] System 1 to experimentation by offering unlimited control over both the modulation and audio signal paths. The full functionality of the Oscillator, Filter, LFO, Envelope Generator, VCA, Midi, and Outputs can be broken apart and used like standalone synthesizer modules. All of the elements of a classic voltage controlled, modular synthesizer are available as an open, patchable, modern synth.

Cell [48] System 1 Components:

Synthesizer Block Module
M3 Module
Midi2 Module
Outs Module
4hp Logo Panel
Cell [48] Case
Single Row Hardwood Side Panels
450mA Linear Power Supply
5 Patch Cables
System 1 User Manual"

Pittsburgh Modular VILFO

"Peculiar LFO module from the soldering irons of the mighty Pittsburgh Modular. You've got a wave that can be varied from triangle to square to some kind of mishmash of both, and then if you put other CVs into it they all get mixed up together. Great for making wonky rhythmic clocks or strange modulations patterns. Plus it has a very aesthetically pleasing LED that looks like HAL 9000 is winking at you and a satisfyingly large frequency knob. Ooh-er missus, etc. But it is great."

"The Timetable is a rather funky clock divider with several twists. The side with the yellow LEDs gives you relatively straight divisions of the clock input, while the side with the red LEDs takes it's cue from the yellow side in various ways depending on the position of the pots, switches and any other external CV's you throw at it. In between them you have three CV outputs that are different interpolations of both sides simultaneously. My favourite's CV3 - my tip is once you get a nice pattern going, stick that into a filter and have a fiddle. It's definitely a module that rewards experimentation and I've had a lot of fun with it. You can also, if you are so minded, swap out the CMOS chips for different logic types and get different patterns entirely. I haven't done this, it's just the stock chips it came with. But hey, experimentation!"

"A wide range, high quality, 8hp utility VCO. It offers a full complement of standard waveforms including Sine, Triangle, Saw, and Pulse waves. The Oscillator offers 5 octaves of 1 volt per octave tracking, and a frequency range starting as low as 7 seconds per cycle, allowing it to double as an LFO. Additional features include oscillator reset for hard syncing, attenuated linear FM input, pulse width, and pulse width CV input.

Excellent logarithmic conformance
Temperature compensated 1 volt per octave operation
Simultaneous sawtooth, pulse, triangle, and sine wave outputs
Sawtooth wave based oscillator circuit
PWM Input: 0% to 100%
Hard sync input
below audio frequency operation.
Size: 8hp
Module depth with ribbon cable attached: 35mm
Power Usage: 30mA"
