EMU Procussion drum synth/synthesizer

via this auction
"Overview The Procussion is a 32 voice multi-timbral sample based synthesizer module that plays percussion instruments. It contains hundreds of different drum and percussion samples, which can be played from a keyboard or MIDI drum pad. The Procussion has 4 MB of 16-bit percussion samples, selected from the Emulator III sound library and stored in ROM.

The Procussion can manipulate these basic samples into an almost limitless number of entirely new percussion sounds, combining parts of one instrument with another or with any of a selection of digital waveforms stored in ROM. The 16 bit samples are arranged into 128 kit locations, 64 of which are user-programmable.

Expansion The Procussion can not be expanded.

Presets The Procussion has 128 presets (64 of which are user programmable). The factory presets and some custom presets from E-mu Systems can be downloaded here. more »

LCD The Procussion uses a standard green 16 x 2 LCD display, augmented by a MIDI activity LED, and LED's for Master, Edit Menu, Preset, and Home.

Configuration A number of sampled percussion instruments are mapped across the keyboard or set of drum pads. Each instrument has many individual attributes such as tuning, volume, pan, etc.

The Kit is a complete set of all program parameters for a set of up to 24 Procussion drum Stacks.

Stacks can be made of up to 4 percussion Instruments, which are assigned to MIDI key ranges called Zones.

Up to 24 Zones may be assigned in one kit. The instruments in a stack can be modulated in many ways or switched on and off depending on various parameters such as velocity (how hard a drum is played) or perhaps the position of the high hat pedal

Inside The Procussion uses the standard early Protues hardware and Revision A motherboard, with a Motorola 68000 processor, eight ROM chips for the samples, and six Burr Brown 16-bit DAC's (PCM56P). There are also a couple of custom surface mount ASIC chips (a Toshiba Gate Array, and a special E-mu chip)"

Studio Electronics SE-1 Synth-Module

via this auction
"The SE-1 is an analog, monophonic synth-module designed to re-create those classic Moog and Oberheim synthesizers sounds. The SE-1 uses three discrete voltage controlled analog oscillators (just like the Minimoog) for genuine analog synth sounds . They offer the basic waveforms you would expect from any analog: triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square, noise, and random. There are also 4 multi-stage ADSR envelope generators used to shape your sound. Also available are Ring Modulation and Glide/Auto-Glide effects. With 24 knobs, 21 tactile switches, MIDI control over parameters and plenty of program storage memory (396 presets and 396 user patches). This is a really cool sounding synth."

SIMMONS SDS-8 vintage analog drum machine

via this auction
"The SDS-8 is a powerful 5-voice analog drum synthesizer. Each channel offers complete control over the sound, giving you classic electronic drum sounds or strange blips and blasts. Each channel also offers a factory preset with the iconic Simmons tones. I triggered this SDS-8 with the individual outputs of a TR-626 (available in another auction), making it into a monster analog drum machine. That same technique can turn the Simmons into a 5-note sequencer. The possibilities are virtually limitless."
