Sound Thrasher 3.0 - Analog Synthesizer Synth Noise Box

images at this auction

audio

"Here’s an original work of functional art, created by New York artist, Bent-It. The piece shown in the pictures is the one you will receive.

With this piece, Bent-It combines visual, audible, and physical stimulation, fostering a truly unique, thought-provoking, interactive work of art. The artist’s fundamental concept of “art creating art” is made evident, as the owner of this piece may physically control and manipulate the audio/sound/noise/music/art output.

The guts of this functional artwork include three oscillators which mess with each other, causing its ¼” output to spit out droning, spaced-out, ring modish, 80’s video game-ish, psychedelic analog noises. The on-off switch can also be flipped rhythmically to create cosmic/spacey, bleeping and blooping. But, to experience the full potential hook it up to audio effect pedals, boards, racks, Mac or PC. The piece also has a ¼” input for anything with a strong enough signal. For example a drum machine which is heard in the audio clips made with a roland tr-505 drum machine.

A standard boss-style 9-volt DC wallwart adapter will bring this functional artwork to life. It is not included."

- Adjustable attack time control for fading-in notes
- Tough and compact die-cast chassis
- 96DC-200BI power supply included"

MoogerFooger FreqBox

images at this auction

"Moog oscillator with an envelope sensor, CV inputs and outputs and an FM dial, manual, power supply and original box

From Moog:
The MF-107 FreqBox(tm) is different from other effects – the effected sound is not a processed version of your input signal, but the sound of the input signal modulating an internal oscillator. It contains a VCO with continuously variable waveshape, and the capacity to modulate that Oscillator in the following ways:

- the VCO can be hard synced by the input signal
- The VCO can be frequency modulated (FM) by the input signal
- The VCO frequency can be modulated by an envelope follower which tracks the dynamics of the input signal
- The Amplitude of the VCO also tracks the dynamics of the input signal

Hard sync is a classic analog synthesis technique where the start of an oscillator’s cycle can be reset by another. The oscillator being synced takes on the frequency characteristics of the other oscillator, and when its frequency is swept, it reinforces the harmonics of the fundamental frequency. In the case of the FreqBox, the input signal is used to reset the FreqBox’s VCO.

FM is a technique used to get really rich sounds from simple waveforms. The type of FM used in the FreqBox is linear FM. Sounds range from gong or bell-like tones to sizzly sweeps.

The FreqBox, like all moogerfoogers, works with any instrument to line-level input. In addition to the panel controls there are control inputs for use with expression pedals or control voltages and control outputs for interconnecting moogerfoogers like you would a modular synth.

" Serial #291693. This one has been modified. A previous owner 'split' apart the 'synth' section from the 'keyboard' section. The case has been 're-connected' via metal straps (see photos). He also installed a series of four RCA jacks on both the keyboard half and the synth half. To connect them together you use these four RCA cable inputs (see photo). There is also a set of three 'unique' jacks on both halves. These are non-functional."

Waldorf Micro-Q

via this auction via noisebug
"the microq's synthesis architecture and sound comes directly from the waldorf q synthesizer and was packed into an nice 2u rack housing. still the microq is easy to program with its editing matrix (some users already may know a similar editing surface from the waldorf pulse synthesizer). this allows you to edit nearly most of the sound engine parameters directly on the surface of this little beast without being in need of activating menus.

not only the expensive sound of the waldorf q was implemented: also the powerful arpeggiator and the more than useful drum map can be found in the waldorf microq, too.

it's time to get maximum quality sound for a minimum amount of money!

features:
up to 25 voices, expandable up to 75 voices
16 part multi timbral
300 single programs
100 multi programs
20 drummaps
