"this unit has been customised with a special modification that adds a cv gate input so the synth can be played from a keyboard via a Midi to CV gate converter like the MPU 101 this modification does change any of the normal functions of the unit it just add as the ability to play the sound from a keyboard it also gives you the ability to key transpose while the unit is playing."

"Simmons was a pioneering British manufacturer of electronic drums founded by Dave Simmons, that supplied electronic kits from 1980 to 1994. The drums' distinctive, electronic sound can be found on countless albums from the 1980s. Introduced in 1986, the SDS-1000, and was a slim 1U, MIDI-enabled, rack mountable unit. The snare sounds, were more realistic and clear than the previous models. The SDS-1000 also included a "second skin" feature, which emulated the sound of dual-headed drums."
