this auction"The TX7 was sold in the 80's as an expander, to double the memory of your DX7 synth, but instead of merely being a storage device the TX7 is actually a complete, programmable [via external editors only], working DX7 synth in a stackable module which can be played via midi from ANY keyboard or sequencer / DAW.

The one compromise is that as the front panel of this unit is quite basic compared to the full keyoard version of the DX7, so you will need a PC or MAC DX7 editor/Librarian application to program the unit, or if you want to take advantage of the 1000s of free DX7 sounds available online, but I will include a CD containing loads of patches and editor/librarians to get you going.
