Vintage Casio CZ-1 Synthesizer Keyboard

via this auction

"CZ-1 ROM Cartridge (#RC-30 Organ/Synth Sound/Sound Effect)."

Sold For: US $103.39

via selectivepressure in the comments: "'Up for sale is this vintage Casio CZ-1 synthesizer being offered for parts or repair. This keyboard shows very little cosmetic wear, and does produce sound, but inconsistently. The unit powers up and the display and buttons light and seem to work as far as changing patches, etc., but the signal cuts in and out when you can get it to sound. It acts as though one of at least three things could be responsible: the volume and/or stereo chorus control sliders are dirty or defective - we tried cleaning the sliders with no luck; the 1/4" outputs may be bad, although the issue is the same with headphones; if the keyboard will not sound, hammering the keys seems to get the signal to come in, and will work sometimes for 10-20 seconds, and then starts to cut out again. In general there seems to but some type of connection problem inside the unit, or at least a few defective parts. There is no real consistency to the problems, and this is being offered for parts or repair only with no guarantee. Includes power cord and a working (from what we can tell) CZ-1 ROM Cartridge (#RC-30 Organ/Synth Sound/Sound Effect).'"
