After a bit of practice using the strange envelope configuration, you can create powerful drum sounds quite easily, kick drums electro-toms, kraftwerky zaps and claps, you can sample drum sounds all day. The bass sounds are also very impressive, from fat and rubbery to speaker shredding, there is no need for more oscillators to add fatness with the korgs filter. anyone who enjoys the 'pushy' sound of a tb-303 or sh-101 will love the korg because it can do those kinds of sound very well, and doesn't have endless contols to get lost in. The lfo waveshape knob allows you to morph between variable pulse waves and ramp waves for a variety of 'crazy' sound effects, or basic tremolos for more musical lead sounds. Patching is useful to access functions like pwm and noise modulation, happy accidents can happen here as well as plugging in external instruments for processing, plug in a bass guitar or electric piano or drum loops and great sounds come out."
