Yamaha ED-10 ANALOG DRUM SYNTH

via this auction
"This is a genuine analogue percussion synth made sometime in the 80's. It was designed as a competitor to the Simmons drum pads, and therefore comes complete with a pressure-sensitive pad for drumming.

The back panel has sockets for 12volt DC in and out - it seems that you could string several of these together to make a drumkit, and they would all share the one DC current. Also, there are 3 sockets for signals: Mix Input, Signal Output, Pad Out/In. The Pad In socket allows you to trigger the synth by an external source. Any audio source seems to work fine. I sent snare sounds, bassdrums, handclaps etc from a roland drum machine, and all of these caused the synth to trigger.

The synth itself is all analogue, with the following specs:

1OSC + 1Noise + 1 Subsonic OSC + 1Filter + 1ENV

The 'subsonic' osc seems to act as a ring modulator on the main oscillator.
The envelope is velocity (pressure) sensitive.

Here are the 10 knobs:
Sens
Decay
Pitch
Bend
Sub Sonic
Click
Filter
Filter Mod
Noise
Volume"
