The AN1x adds a new Ribbon controller for increased real-time control. It also includes pulse width modulation, ring modulation and oscillator syncing. The AN1x may not be the next evolution of the CS1x but it is basically a more advanced synth capable of increased sound potential and quality. It has a better feeling keyboard than the CS1x as well assuming that the AN1x is for those looking for something more professional than the CS1x. The AN1x has 10-note polyphony, a twin oscillator, multi-mode filter design with separate pitch, filter and amplitude envelopes, as well as two LFOs and a 4-track Free EG which lets you "hand draw" knob movements in realtime which can be recorded as part of the patch. It has an authentic warmth, smooth Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), as well as filters that whistle if the resonance is set too high, and go into oscillation smoothly and predictably, just as with an analog synthesizer. Each patch supports two scenes (separate control settings). The user can quickly switch between the two scenes or morph the sound between the two scenes."
