DSI PEK
images via this auction
"Dave Smith is known as the father of the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 and Prophet VS synthesizers (among other things).
The PolyEvolver is a modern blend of these two classics. It contains two analog oscillators as well as two digital oscillators (4 in all!) and a warm CEM analog low-pass filter. Here are some more specs:
- 2 analog oscillators (triangle, sawtooth, tri-saw blend, and variable pulse waveforms)
- 2 digital oscillators with multiple waveforms based on those of the original Prophet VS
- Full-size semi-weighted keyboard
- 4 16-step sequencers (these can be routed to various parameters)
- Analog Curtis low-pass filter
- 3 Envelopes
- 4 LFOs
- High-pass filter
- Noise, distortion, and output hack functions
- Multi-timbrality (The PEK can act as a 4-voice polysynth, 4 separate monosynths, or anything inbetween. It also has separate outputs as well as a main out.)
- Expandability (You can add more Evolver units to the PEK to add more voices)
- MIDI In/Out/Thru
- Made in the USA :-)
- More info can be found at: www.davesmithinstruments.com
This synthesizer is capable of anything. You can route the sequencers, LFOs, or Envelope 3 to almost any parameters. The sounds of the PEK are extremely rich and complex. It's quite possible to create an entire track in multi-timbral mode. The 4 sequencers really give this unit its name. The sounds are dynamic and evolving. There is nothing out there that sounds quite like the PolyEvolver."
