Analogue Solutions Modular SQ8 Mini Sequencers
via this auction."These handy 8-step CV/Gate sequencers are contained in an Analogue Solutions MiniModular case. A wall-wart power supply for US (110) voltage is included.
I used this flexible sequencer box with Blacet and Modcan modules, as well as vintage Roland SH-2 and Korg MS-20 synths.
These sequencers do not have an internal clock, so you will need and external clock (or LFO) to run them--I used other modules or a Moogerfooger CP251.
The SQ8 will send Gate patterns as well as CV, so you can make syncopated rhythms. There are pull knobs to activate the gate for each step.

'Analogue sequencers allow you to program a set of voltages and Trigger events (8 in this case), and allow you to step through them by using a clock signal or LFO square wave. With each step, then next voltage as set by the contol is present at the CV output.
The sequencer need not control pitch, it could be used to change the filter cut-off, volume, or LFO speed. The advantage analogue sequencers have over hardware sequencers is firstly their immediacy. Having all the controls, switches and sockets in front of you allows quicker programming. Secondly, as the output is an analogue control voltage and not a digital MIDI signal, the output of analogue sequencers can easly be mixed with other voltages, or processed in some way.
The SQ8 is a single channel sequencer with 8 steps. As it is single channel, larger sequencing systems can be built up by doubling up on sequencers. As they are all separate, you can clock them at different speeds or clock divide ratios.'"

As a cheaper, scaled-down version of the Odyssey, the Axxe was simplified to the point of becoming arguably the most standard analog synthesizer. It has a single VCO (filtered into two different waveforms, ramp and pulse) that is passed through a voltage controlled low-pass filter and VCA. Sine wave and pulse wave modulation can be applied to nearly every section of the synthesizer. Noteworthy is the addition of sample-and-hold and the ability to pass external audio through the filter (in the tradition of the Minimoog)."
